Kicking Off Our Milestone 30th Annual Holiday Effort

Our 2026 Holiday Effort is Underway | Sponsor a Child Today!

Hello Friends and Family,

Welcome to the official Kick-Off of the milestone 30th Annual Frank and Rosemary Iovieno Caring for Children Holiday Effort for 2026! 30 Years…Wow…before we get into this year’s effort, let me say a huge thank you to EVERYONE who has participated in and supported this effort for the last 30 Years.

Regarding this year’s effort, we are looking to build upon last year’s successful effort, where we supported over 800+ children through numerous companies and individuals, and we received a record-setting amount of donations to help the children and families in additional ways not only during the holiday season but also throughout the entire year.

Just a note… if you’d like to Sponsor a Child and be matched before Thanksgiving, kindly register by Wednesday, November 18th. However, the earlier the better, as always.

By sponsoring a child or children, you will receive a personal profile and story about the child(ren) to whom you are assigned, which has been written by the child’s social worker. The personal profile includes clothing sizes, special interests, and “special requests.” Sponsoring a child requires a minimum of $150-$200 per child to ensure equity among all children within a family and program.

In addition to Sponsoring a Child, there are several other ways to help!  Please see below to learn about the various ways to participate in the Holiday Effort.

As introduced last year, the Leah Ellis Memorial Wrapping Party (WP) will be on Sunday, December 13th from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Lexington High Field House.

Although attending the WP is the preferred method for delivering gifts, attending the WP is NOT a requirement for participation, as alternative plans can be made for delivering or mailing gifts.

If you’re interested in introducing the Caring for Children Holiday Effort to your company or a company with whom you are affiliated, please get in touch with me, and we can discuss and support that path.

Thank you in advance for your generosity in helping so many children and their families this holiday season.

Sincerely,

John

How You Can Help

You can now register for our milestone 30th Annual Holiday Effort! There are four ways you can help.

  • Sponsor a Child: Our most popular option allows you or a group to sponsor one or more children with clothing and gifts.
  • Monetary Donation: Money will be used to provide for basic needs for these children and their families during the holidays and throughout the year.
  • Gift Card Donation: We appreciate any type of gift card, but clothing and food store gift cards will meet our most urgent needs.
  • Sponsor a Gift Basket: For those who want to help a child in need but have constraints on the amount of time to shop for a child.

We are happy to announce that this year’s Leah Ellis Memorial Wrapping Party will be held on Sunday, December 13th, from 12pm to 4pm at the Lexington Field House on the campus of Lexington High, 251 Waltham Street, Lexington, MA.

Attendance at the Wrapping Party is not required for participation, as we can make alternative plans for delivering the gifts. Please drop off all gifts by 3 PM to allow time to register and distribute them properly.

This is a fantastic event for the whole family, where we wrap presents, socialize, and provide fun activities for the kids. Please visit our Gift Wrapping page for wrapping/tagging instructions and event updates as we gear up for a fun day for the whole family.
