Caring for Children is deeply grateful to Agios Pharmaceuticals for finding a new and meaningful way to support the children and families we serve. Agios and their team have generously sponsored hundreds of children through our Holiday Effort over many years. This July, while planning a company-wide event in Boston, they approached us and asked what more they could do to help.
That thoughtful offer led to a special Back-to-School Backpack event. Agios and its employees purchased, filled, and delivered backpacks containing school supplies and gift cards for 60 children living with sickle cell disease who receive care at Boston-area hospitals. In recognition of Caring for Children’s 30th anniversary, this generous initiative supported 30 families.
Agios’ commitment to the sickle cell community also extends to its ongoing research and development of treatments for the disease. We are beyond grateful to Agios and every employee who made this event possible and helped these children begin the school year feeling prepared, supported, and cared for.
