Kicking Off Our 28th Annual Holiday Effort
Hello Friends and Family,
Welcome to the official Kick-Off of the 28th Annual Frank and Rosemary Iovieno Caring for Children Holiday Effort for 2024!
We are looking to build upon another successful Holiday Effort last year, during which 800+ children were directly sponsored by numerous companies and individuals. We received a record-setting amount of donations to help the children and families in additional ways, not only during the holiday season but also throughout the entire year.
Just a note: If you’d like to Sponsor A Child and be matched before Thanksgiving, kindly register by Friday, November 22nd. However, as always, the earlier, the better.
By sponsoring a child or children, you will receive a personal profile and story about the child(ren) to whom you are assigned, which has been written by the child’s social worker. The personal profile includes clothing sizes, special interests, and “special requests.” We recommend that sponsoring a child requires a minimum of $150-200 per child to ensure a level of equity between all the children within a family and program.
In addition to Sponsoring a Child, there are several other ways to help! Please see below for information about how to participate in the Holiday Effort and the details for our annual Wrapping Party on December 15th at the Lexington High Field House. Attending the Wrapping Party is NOT a requirement for participation, as alternative plans can be made for delivering or mailing gifts.

You can now register for our 28th Holiday Effort! There are four ways you can help.
- Sponsor a Child: Our most popular option allows you or a group to sponsor one or more children with clothing and gifts.
- Monetary Donation: Money will be used to provide for basic needs for these children and their families during the holidays and throughout the year.
- Gift Card Donation: We appreciate any type of gift card, but clothing and food store gift cards will meet our most urgent needs.
- Sponsor a Gift Basket: For those who want to help a child in need but have constraints on the amount of time to shop for a child.
We are happy to announce that this year’s Wrapping Party will be held on Sunday, December 15th, from 12pm to 4pm at the Lexington Field House on the campus of Lexington High, 251 Waltham Street, Lexington, MA. Attendance at the Wrapping Party is not a requirement for participation, as alternative plans for delivering the gifts can be made. All gifts should be dropped off by 3 PM to allow for registering and distributing the gifts properly.
